Located just north of Phoenix in the scenic foothills of Black Mountain, this Wild West town has deep western roots. It was established as a gold mining town and a stopping point for the US Cavalry in the 1870s. This Western experience still exists today featuring several saloons, western shops, rodeo events, galleries, and live music. There are more horses than vehicles on the streets when the community celebrates its Western roots twice every year, Fiesta Days in April and Wild West Days in November.
